DarkRP Universal Rules

These rules apply across all Blue Valor RP DarkRP servers and serve as the minimum standard of conduct for every player.

Individual servers may have additional rules, restrictions, or requirements based on their specific gameplay, economy, map, or roleplay systems. These server-specific rules may be added or amended at the discretion of Super Admins and higher-ranking staff.

When a server-specific rule is more restrictive than a Universal Rule, the server-specific rule will take precedence for that server.

Players are responsible for reviewing both the Universal Rules and any additional rules posted for the server they are playing on.

General Rules:

1. Respect Other Players - Treat all players and staff with basic respect. Harassment, targeted bullying, excessive personal attacks, threats, or intentionally hostile behavior are prohibited. Disagreements are allowed. Turning those disagreements into sustained harassment is not.
   

2. No RDM/Prop Kill - Random Deathmatch (RDM) is prohibited. You must have a valid roleplay reason before intentionally killing or seriously injuring another player.

   Personal dislike, previous unrelated incidents, or “because I felt like it” are not valid reasons.

   1. No VDM - Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) is prohibited.
      

3. No RDA - Random Arrest (RDA) is prohibited. Law enforcement must have a valid roleplay or legal reason to arrest, detain, search, or otherwise restrict another player.

   1. No Random Warrants - You cannot issue warrants, to randomly search players, houses, or businesses. You must have a valid warrant reason.
      

4. No FailRP - Players are expected to act within the reasonable limitations of their role and the situation occurring around them.

   1. Value Your Life - Players should make reasonable attempts to preserve their character's life. Do not intentionally place yourself in obviously lethal situations without a legitimate roleplay reason. If you are clearly outnumbered or at an overwhelming disadvantage, act accordingly.

   2. No Metagaming - Do not use information your character would not reasonably know. This includes information obtained through:

      • OOC chat

      • Discord

      • Streams

      • Spectator mode

      • Staff tools

      • Another character

      • External communication

      Information must generally be learned through legitimate in-character interaction.

   3. No Powergaming - Do not force unreasonable roleplay outcomes onto another player or exploit game mechanics to give yourself an unrealistic advantage.

      Players must be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to roleplay actions where appropriate.
      

5. No NLR Violations - After dying, you may not immediately return to the location of your death, continue the same confrontation, or act on information directly related to the events that caused your death. Server-specific rules may establish an exact New Life Rule timer or distance.
